From Challenge to Celebration
Today is a day of celebration.
Today, I can say I am a cancer survivor. Today, I do not have any medical appointments. Today, there is no treatment plan.
A month or so ago, my oncologist suggested that I find a way to mark this day; to find a way to celebrate. I considered many options... learning to kayak, taking a watercolor class, spending a week at one of the many delightful coastal towns that make North Carolina a great place to live.
But nothing touched my heart and warmed my soul as much as thinking of returning to a world I love... needlework in all it’s fascinating forms filled with needleworkers who share a common thread. Whether we are drawn to samplers stitched long ago or to quirky designs that make us laugh, we are a sisterhood of stitchers and I am thrilled to be ready to step back into that circle of friends, old and new.
